Never have I been so relieved.

A girl in a towel, purple gumboots
with wet, coconut flavoured hair.
Walking across a paddock holding a see-through umbrella,
Hazy half-shadows through drizzly rain
[Never has it taken this long].
Step, step, step.
The sprinkler whispers and there is someone behind her,
amongst the rustle of her step.
At the doorway, disorientated by the size of the umbrella,
and the urgency to get in;
Controlled, routine movements,
as a train full of zombies
bound for Austwitz
trundles past.
She carefully secures the bright red curtain closed,
As they whisper,
We’ve got her.
